A quick and easy solution to your corrupted Microsoft Works files is the new Recovery for Works 2008.0823 software. It consists of three components-Recovery for Works Database for Works databases (.wdb), Recovery for Works Spreadsheet for Works spreadsheets (.xlr) and Recovery for Works Word for Works documents (.wps). These are available as standalone products also.
All Recovery for Works suite products support Microsoft Works versions 7.x, 6.x and 5.x. The new thing in the Recovery for Works Word 1.5 is that it supports Microsoft Works 8.0. Its standard features include recovering lost images, tables and even texts and formatting.
The Recovery for Works Spreadsheet features the ability to retrieve original formatting, recovering formulas and it even recovers numeric fields and text. Keeping your database safe for you, the Recovery for Works Database is equipped to recover your reports and forms, not to mention your text and text properties. Its features also include recovering formulas.
The only limitation to this otherwise ideal product is its inability to recover OLE objects. So all you can hope and pray for is that you don’t lose them in the first place! And now a word about its system requirements. The software requires any of the following operating systems: Windows 98, 95, 2000, XP, ME, Vista or 2003 Server. Its installation requires a minimum of 5GB free space on the hard drive, including 128 MB RAM.
